Opening of Shanghai Representative OfficePress releases
February 24, 2014
We are pleased to announce that Nishimura and Asahi (N&A) has been granted a license by the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China and opened its Shanghai Representative Office in February 2014.
The office will be staffed by two of N&A’s Japanese lawyers, Mr. Toshihiro Maeda (Partner), who specializes in Finance (including Chinese business), and Mr. Takashi Nomura (Counsel) who specializes in Chinese IP and M&A in China.
We opened our Beijing Representative Office in April 2010 in order to support Japanese companies investing in China. Our expansion into Shanghai, a city expected to experience further economic growth due to the establishment of the Pilot Free Trade Zone, will reinforce our teams in Tokyo and Beijing in providing quality legal services in the areas of finance and various service industries.
The opening of our Shanghai Representative Office is in line with our commitment to consolidate our business development in Japan and overseas. In order to enhance the legal support we provide Japanese companies doing business in foreign countries, especially in Asia, we have also opened offices in Beijing, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Singapore, Yangon and Bangkok. With this new office, we now have seven overseas offices and four domestic offices (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka). The further expansion of our network in Japan and overseas will enable us to provide quality legal services to our clients wherever they do business in the region.
