Eiichiro Yamasaki joins Nishimura & Asahi

We are pleased to announce that Eiichiro Yamasaki joined Nishimura & Asahi as a counsel on March 16, 2020.

Mr. Yamasaki was appointed as an Assistant Judge of the Tokyo District Court in 1996, and went on to hold the positions of Attorney of the Civil Affairs Bureau of the Supreme Court, Judge of the Tokyo District Court, including serving on the Bankruptcy Court/Commercial Court of the Civil Division, Public Prosecutor of the Litigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, Professor of the Legal Training and Research Institute, and Attorney/Public Prosecutor and Director of the Litigation Policy Support Division of the Litigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice. He qualified as an attorney-at-law in 2019 after his retirement as a Judge of the Tokyo High Court.

We are confident that Mr. Yamasaki will greatly enrich and develop the firm's practice as a whole, in addition to our corporate disputes and restructuring & insolvency practice, using his considerable experience of restructuring and insolvency and his work in establishing a system for international trials and international investment arbitration in Japan.
