Nishimura & Asahi named top ten in Acritas Asia Pacific Law Firm Brand Index 2020

Leading Japanese law firm Nishimura & Asahi has been ranked as a top ten law firm in the Asia Pacific Law Firm Brand Index 2020, published by Acritas, an international legal market research organization based in the UK and part of Thomson Reuters. 

Nishimura & Asahi ranked highly for key index measures, including multi-jurisdictional litigation, multi-jurisdictional deal work and overall M&A. It was also ranked highly for awareness, favorability and high-value legal work.

The 2020 index was compiled from the unprompted responses of 530 senior general counsel in Asia Pacific organizations across all industry sectors with annual revenues over USD 50M in interviews conducted between January 2019 and July 2020. A further 382 senior in-house counsel from “elite” organizations were asked which firms they used for their legal needs in any of seven key jurisdictions within Asia Pacific, outside of the country they were based in.

According to Acritas: “This Index is the first to be published to include opinions gathered since COVID-19 took hold across the world - and its impact on the results is clear. In what has been a tumultuous year for law firms, those who adapted by leveraging their key offerings for clients have been able to better weather the storm.”

Improving on last year’s result by three positions, this ranking further cements Nishimura & Asahi’s position as a leader of the APAC legal market.
