In his days as a Department Chief Judge of Tokyo District Court (Department of bankruptcy and restructuring), he contributed to the establishment of the civil rehabilitation practice and simplified bankruptcy proceedings (shogaku-kanzai-seido), which have been highly praised from various quarters as forming the basis of today's restructuring practice.
